No mail

I have set up the software as per the instructions, have set the documents to email with email addresses and set the masquerade to both on an off but get no emails to either the address of the sender or the administrator.

The site is not live as yet so anyone with any ideas may be able to advise.

I have sendmail available in the PHP4 of the site. I have another site that does send mail on the same server.

As my PHP knowledge is not that brilliant and my Italian less so, maybe someone advise what areas to check to resolve the issue. I am sure this should all work, the rest seems perfectly alright.


Have just done an edit and view in admin mode and I can send, but not from the availability_template.

Maybe I am missing something here. Should I be able to send from the template, or is mail sending only available from the administration screens, and should I get a message saying there is a new reservation request or not?

You have to set up the email address to which send the reservation requests when creating the availability template. A copy of the request can also be sent to the enquirer. Php-residence uses the php mail() function to send mails.

Thanks Marco, my problem was one of assuming that the program would automatically send an email confirming and entering the booking request. I now realise that the system requires human intervention to enter the booking from the message and sending a confirmation.

It all works well and I am really impressed with its capabilities. I now have to make sure that my purchase of the hotel runs as smoothly.
