what are the charges for taking reservations through paypal. i am considering taking the hosting package for our hotel, but i am not sure about the paypal situation,

1. does paypal take money out for the first night?
2. does paypal offer security in case of cancellation?
3. what are the charges for a transaction?

Paypal just handles the payment, takes the money from the client and puts it into your paypal account. The paypal booking template uses paypal for the money of the deposit, and inserts the reservation only when payment is completed, so if the client cancels the reservation you can keep the deposit.

The paypal charge is 3.5% of the payment (so it's 3.5% of the deposit). The hosting also offers a ssl connection, so if you prefer you can set up the availability template to ask directly the credit card data and then you will charge on it the deposit.
