First many many thanks for this great impressive piece of software.
Was a problem, but found a solution that I just wanted to share. When sending documents defined as emails not as admin but as a user with privileges the privilege "Possibility to send messages:" has to be set to "no" in order to have the Sender field enabled iE to be able to send emails. A small problem, but took me a while testing all configurations to figure out, wanted to spare others the search that also use this great function.
Again many thanks for your great work.

The privilege "Possibility to send messages:" refers to php-residence messages system and is not connected with document emails. What you have probably changed is the privilege "Modify his own customizations" to yes, this enables the user to change the email address stored in "configure and customize" (in the "structure data" section), that is also used as the "from" field in emails from documents. Your user had an empty email address so could not send emails, if you set an email address for the user and "Modify his own customizations" to no, that user will be able to send emails only from that address.
