Hi Marco,
1. Is there a central control to change all the colours of the table borders or do I have to edit the revelant php?

2. Changing admin buttons to something more colourful. Where will I find the code to change this?

Hello Phil,
in the file head.php of each theme there are some variables to control border and color of the tables. To change button colors you can use css (class=sbutton) as shown in head.php. This way you can't make the buttons different from each other, maybe in future I will make a different class for each button.
