let's create an html documentation !!!

Post by gromeo »

Common, usaz, wassup, can't work for the good old communist good for everybody? 8)

Just jokin.

My point: let's create a documentation for the php-residence!!! Me 1 - will build the structure, and then everybody can work on it, by sending to Marco the part they have made. Marco, any ideas?

Structure:

Introduction
-about
-installation (in the beginning of the section, explanation why you should chose x number of appartments, and so on)
-configuration
-customization
Hands-On-Lab
-create sample database for sample hotel
-create rates, create clients, create rooms, create everything
-work with the system - make reservations, delete them, create users, etc
Troubleshooting

If more people is interested I can set up a wiki on this site.

When I have time I'll do a new tutorial describing the basic configuration to do after install, basically what described in the previous post.

I believe, as marco created the whole thing alone, it is time for us, who use his labor, to help! and if one person can create php-residence, why we couldn't create a documentation? We can! so, marco, make a wiki, we will enter information there, just need the guidelines, as not everybody know the system well.

Let's do it, fellows!!! 8)

I've set up the wiki, you can find it at:

http://www.digitaldruid.net/php-residence/wiki/

I've used moniwiki, for now you can modify pages even without an account, if you feel it shouldn't be this way I can try to change it. When I have time and there is some content I'll add a link from the site.

A possible wiki category could be:

Code: Select all

/translations/(language code:es, en, it, es_es, es_ar, ...)/filename (inizio.php)
or

Code: Select all

/languages/(language code)/filename
And a possible format for the translations could be:

Code: Select all

<?php

switch ($messaggio) {

case "Menù principale dell'anno": $messaggio = "Main menu of year"; break;
case "Inserisci........
or

Code: Select all

Menù principale dell'anno:Main menu of year
What do you think about it?

Hi!
I've started to add the spanish translation files to the wiki:
http://www.digitaldruid.net/php-residen ... guagePacks

I don't know how to create New Pages with spaces between the words :oops:

If someone could modify the files, please do it :)

It's the only wiki in php I've found in debian stable, so I prefer to run this one for security and memory usage reasons.
You can wipe out the front page (just leave the link added by Jorge) and replace it as you like. My advice is to leave at least the "recent changes" link, it's very useful when there is more people editing.
