I am trying to restore a backup file made by the backup system of Hoteldruid.
But i get the error wrong file format when i do so, does anybody has a clue what could cause this problem?
I use the file hoteld_backup.php in the dati folder.

Hello,
i'm quite new to HotelDruid so i can't tell you why it did it.
But maybe there is a chance that you can manually restore the data from the corrupt file you mention
This data files are plain text, so usually a corrupted file means an incomplete file: if you are lucky enough you might have all important data inside the file
My advice is that you try to download the file to your PC, and try to open it with Wordpad or Write
You should see the CREATE commands and the INSERT commands
If you do, you just need to use PHPMYADMIN in order to delete your tables and run the SQL commands from the file
Please let me know if you need further help
All the best
R.

once a backup is corrupt, is kind of hard to fix it.
I ran into a similar problem while doing a migration.
The best way is to do a migration of the actual database, forget the files.
here's how i did it.

The backup system doesnt work for me - any time I try to restore one it says its the wrong file format. I think the problem is that there's an error somewhere else in the restore dialogue but that the only error message is the 'wrong file format' one, since you can enter anything or nothing in the dialogue boxes and still get the same error!

There was a bug in 2.0.3 when restoring a backup with custom names for the rental unit (not "room" or "apartment"). If this is the case try upgrading to hoteldruid 2.1.
