Error in room assingment

Post by frank_did »

There's an error in the room assignment since version 1.3.2 and still in last recent version 2.02.
In my first house there are rooms of different prices. Room 1 costs 24 Euro, Room 3 20 Euro and all the others have a price of 28 Euro.
I have another house with all rooms in the same price category.
If I book a room and select house 1, Hoteldruid always reserve room 1 (24 Euro), even I selected the price category of 28 Euro.
It seems that Hoteldruid takes the first room, checks if it's available and use this room for reservation without checking if the price category matches.

Best regards
Frank

Hello Frank,
you have to use assignment rule n. 2 to assign the rooms to your rates.

Hi Marco,

I'm sorry but I didn't mention it: I use rule 2 for the assignment. The rule works and prevents that a room with a higher price is used. But the rule doesn't seem to prevent that a cheaper room is occupied.

It's pos sible that I just don't understand your setup, but do I understand that you have a single room type for House 1 that assigns to rooms with different prices? I don't think it works like that. You could have two room types, 'room in house 1' and 'room in house 1 with a view" and have the first type assign, in order rooms 1, then 2, then 3.....while the second type only assigns room 3.

I have that, where the last room with two double beds is a pet room, and if you book a pet room, you get it, but it doesn't sit empty while we turn away customers for a room with two doubles.

My setup is:
House 1 - Room 1 - 24 Euro
House 1 - Room 3 - 20 Euro
House 1 - all others - 28 Euro
House 2 - all rooms - 28 Euro

If I select "house 1" and category 20Euro the room which costs 24 Euro is selected even I want to book for room 3 (20 Euro)

Is your booking form that the guest sees online somewhere I can look at it?

I have a testing environment. But I want to make it public. Please send me a private message inside this forum. I'll send you the url and a password for my testing setup. It seems so that it's not permitted to send you a pm.
