database migration

Post by alexandre »

Hi,

I have recently moved my website to an other server and made the appropriate backup and especially the database.

I created a new database in my new server but the database name is different, so I want to update php-residence php files with the accurate new database name (php sql connector)

Would you know whcih file I would need to modify with the new database name ?

regards,

alexandre

I found it: change the setting in this file :dati_connessione.php

and then don t forget to change the setttings in your web template aswell

I hope it helps other people with the same question

Hello Alexandre,
it would be more appropriate to use the php-residence backup system.

Tried the same. Backup system does not backup the database content. Using the mentioned file did not work either.\

Is there a full procedure to move php residence from hostA to hostB?

Eventually I solved the issue. The backup program does nog backup the databases. Not sure what it does. I re-installed the software on the new server, copied the mysql files (download and upload via phpadmin) and copied the DATI folder. It worked afterwards.
